This family orientated event is immensely popular with the local community of Milngavie, Bearsden and the surrounding areas, and is always extremely well supported by the local community. The 2008 attendance was 8000, and we are confident that with our new improved programming, we will exceed that figure.

The Bearsden & Milngavie Highland Games are organised and run on a not-for-profit basis. Surplus funds, if there are any, are donated to worthy causes. This year we will be donating any surplus funds to the Beatson Oncology Unit at the Western Infirmary. We rely on our income from 6 major sources:
1. Gate receipts
2. East Dunbartonshire Council Grant
3. Trade Stalls and Exhibitors
4. Bar Profit
5. Programme advertising
6. Event sponsorship

We appreciate that in the current economic climate, businesses are feeling the effects of the economic downturn, and that prudence is the watchword, however, the Games are of immense importance to the local community, and we are asking local businesses to consider this in deciding to support the event. The support of the local business community is of vital importance to the survival of The Games, and we would greatly appreciate any support you can give.

Included in the menu of events throughout the day are competitions involving Traditional Highland Games, Scottish Dancing, Pipe Band Competition, fairground rides and shows, on-site catering, as well as local exhibitors and stalls. This year’s Chieftain is Michelle McManus, and we are confident of securing the services of ‘The Clann’; a troupe who specialise in Jacobean battle re-enactment and historical artefact. There will also be live music throughout the day for the first time.

As we continue our efforts to evolve and enhance the quality and value of The Games to those attending, we strive to encourage the support and involvement of the business community, with particular emphasis on local companies, as without their support through sponsorship and advertising, The Games would ultimately not be feasible.

Below is a factsheet, outlining the various packages available and relevant pricing for your perusal. In addition, we have a limited remaining space for Trade Stands/Stalls. These are competitively priced at £6.50 per square foot of frontage, subject to a minimum frontage of 10 feet.
